Thornton sixth in Topless 100 at Batesville
Ricky Thornton Jr. unloaded his Koehler Motorsports No. 20RT Late Model at Batesville Motor Speedway over the weekend for the 33rd annual Nutrien Ag Solutions Topless 100 presented by Big River Steel.
With 44 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries split into groups for Friday’s twin preliminaries, Thornton advanced five spots to finish second, earning a second-row starting position for Saturday’s $50,000-to-win Topless 100.
Thornton challenged inside the top three for much of the 100-lap finale before fading in the closing stages, ultimately crossing the line in sixth.
Thornton remains in second in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
